We did it.
We successfully finished Zoo Camp and moved everything we own from our house to the garage. I'm exhausted.
While the hardwoods are being refinished, the kids and I will be staying with my in-laws. They live near a pretty little beach on Puget Sound, and I'm more than ready to step away from house projects for a couple of weeks and just relax. I expect we'll spend most of our time outdoors- much of it playing in sand and water. The girls will start a summer session of ballet, but there's nothing else on the schedule. I. can't. wait.
I'm bringing a merry stack of books for myself,
and our new read-aloud, Olga Da Polga (thanks for recommending it, Meghan- this one has the kids in giggles already! I linked to Amazon only so you all could see the cover- do NOT pay that price for it! Get it from your library or a used book sale.) Oh, and for those who've asked how we are doing with The Secret Garden... I read the first chapter to myself, and decided the story was too heavy for my littles. We're putting it off for another year or two.
I'm also bringing The Book of Days. It looks deliciously inviting, doesn't it?
I don't think I'll be blogging much for the next little while. Once we return from our week at the beach, we'll be moving all of our belongings back into the house, and I expect that will be a rather slow and laborious process. Then we'll install a new countertop and backsplash, lay tile on the kitchen floor, and begin working on the outdoor siding and windows. We'll pack up for a weekend camping trip, and then head north for a week for my sister's wedding.
So you see why I'll be away.
I'll still check in with my google reader to see what you're all up to, and I'll be listening in on conversations at 4Real. Otherwise, things are going to be quiet here for a bit. I know that some of you are waiting for my conversion story, and I hope to work on it a bit as time allows. It's coming, I promise!
Thanks for visiting my little blog- I'll be back just as soon as I can. Keep me in your prayers, friends- I'll be sure to keep you in mine!
