The ladies who are really on top of their game play {Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real} on Thursdays. I am not on top of my game, so I'm playing on Saturday. Better late than never, right?

Asters (and a fairy garden) by the front door. If I had really thought this through, I would have planted orange, yellow, and red asters instead. I planted these aster seeds in May, though, and my heart was all taken up with summer colors at the time. That's alright. Still pretty. Tulip assures me that the fairies enjoy them, regardless of their summery hues. :)

Speaking of Tulip, she put on quite the production for us the other night. It was a "Scary Witch Show", in honor of Halloween (um... a little early, don't you think?). She turned out all the lights, donned Andy's old graduation gown, and put on all the dramatics she could muster, complete with waving glow-sticks and a high-pitched witch's cackle (I'll get you my pretty!!! A-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!).It was actually quite precious (but don't tell her that- she thinks it was scary.) It's just that a little girl with little blonde curls can only be so wicked... you know? :)

During our biology lesson this week, Snapdragon and I had a wee bit of a miscommunication. We were looking at a picture of the brain, and something about that particular picture in the DK book caught his attention.
"Is that a little man in his brain?" he asked me.
"Yes," I responded, "That is the man's brain."
Snap's eyes bugged out. He clutched both sides of his cranium. He looked, quite honestly, horrified.
"WHAT?!?!" He cried, "There's a LITTLE MAN inside my BRAIN?"
Oh. Dear.
"No dear, there's not a little man inside your brain! I misunderstood your question." This, of course, came as quite the relief to Snap, who was looking at all our heads a little queerly.
The exchange was followed, of course, by side-splitting laughter from Tulip, who thought it was perhaps the funniest thing she had ever heard in her life.
For a minute there, I really did wonder if she would burst a blood vessel, laughing. This picture was taken after the laughter had come down to a more usual level. Two minutes before this she was beet red and hardly breathing. It was, apparently, that funny.
This? Is the lot of my poor homeschooled children. If my kids grow up and tell you that you have little men in your brains, please accept my apologies. I'm doin' the best I can, see? And apparently, I may need some serious help. :)
~Real~
I have a confession to make. Remember that belly shot I posted from our camping trip? So... right.... that wasn't exactly an especially honest representation of the truth. I got carried away! I'm sorry! I got a lot of comments about my "big belly" and how I look like I'm "due yesterday." Which is what I was going for, of course.
I have a thing with wanting to look even more pregnant than I am (which I do understand is opposite of what most normal, sane women want, but I've never claimed to be normal or sane, so there you go). In that photo, I went for a good angle and stuck my tummy waaaaaaay out, with a rather pleasing result!
This picture, above? Is much more representative of my little bump (which isn't all that big, but I'm always sticking it out, trying to make it look bigger). I decided I'd better own up to my bad behavior and be honest. I'm not really very big. But I'm trying to be!
So please still leave me comments telling me how big and cute my tummy is. Or I won't post ANY more pictures of it at all. I'm just that self-absorbed. That's all there is to it. :)
Your belly is adorably cute! How about a side view next time? Sending much love your way.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture! Yes, it's a cute belly (not that you were fishin') but your face behind the camera! It's positively impish :)
ReplyDeleteI love the fairy garden, a lot.
I love the photo quality you are snapping these days, pretty sure I want to sit in on more biology lessons!
ReplyDeleteBTW, good gracious look how adorably gigantic your belly is! I can't wait to love on it and my other nieces and nephew!
Sarah your tummy is big and cute! And... I think you are doing a great job with your kids. And thank you so much for your comment on my blog. It meant a lot.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, and very big...that tummy of yours! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are putting that new camera of yours to good use. I love these photos.
Before evening attempting to garner a huge amount of "wow-you-have-a-big-tummy" responses on your campaign to be the biggest cutest pregnancy belly in the state, I was thinking, "Wow . . . she is getting really big and I'm really excited and it's blasted cute." . . so there you go. Know it's a genuine comment and not a guilted into one! Hee Hee . . . and I agree with Beth . . . we need to see a side shot! (Now rub that precious belly for me as I'm to far away . . .)
