Pinning it Down {1} Love Message Board

Welcome to our first Pinning it Down Tuesday! Do you find yourself pinning projects to Pinterest, but rarely getting around to doing them? Do you need a bit of encouragement to make some of those projects come to life? Join Pam and me every Tuesday for the Pinning it Down link-up, where we're making a Pinterest project happen in our homes every week.

This isn't a die-hard link-up. Feel free to participate once a week or once a month- whatever works for you. We're eager to make our Pinterest boards come to life in our homes, and we're hoping you'll find the motivation and encouragement here to do the same. It doesn't need to be an elaborate pin to link up here. Just pick something- anything- off those boards and do it!

For my first Pinning it Down project, I chose a love message board from Lianne at A Content Housewife. This was a super simple project. I chose a masculine 5x7 frame from the clearance rack at TJ Maxx,  printed out the words "I love you because" onto a piece of scrapbook paper, and cut it to fit. I plan to keep this frame on Andy's nightstand, where I can use a fine-point dry erase marker to leave him messages on a regular basis. :)

This is one of those super-simple pins that I think will make a big difference. Who doesn't appreciate a love note for all the little stuff that usually goes unnoticed?

Are you ready to play along? Here's how our link-up works:

1. Choose a project from one of your Pinterest pinboards and make it happen. Blog a little about it. Remember, it doesn't have to be elaborate- we just want to see what you've been up to!

2. Make sure you link back here somewhere in your post so others can find us and play along. Feel free to grab our Pinning it Down graphic if you'd like to add it to your post.

3. Link up below. Make sure you're sending us to your actual post, and not to your general blog address. You can add your link all the way through Friday, so if you haven't gotten a chance to work on any of your pins yet this week, you're not too late.

  1. I. Love. This!!! I think I might make one for my hubs, too! I've been mulling around ideas to try from my boards, but came to terms with the fact that I'll have to join the fun next week. Hopefully, someone will be here tomorrow "pinning down" some carpeting in my house. :)

  14. Sarah, your project is wonderful. I'm not sure if I can link up this week, but at least I'd like to copycat what you made! :-)

P.S. Downloaded a free Kindle sample of Mamarazzi and am already falling in love ...

  16. Thank you for hosting this and for stopping by my blog! I love the frame idea - it may be good for other types of reminders too.

I hopped around to all the other ladies' blogs listed and enjoyed myself, but the comments weren't working on a few (or maybe it had something to do with firefox?).

I look forward to putting more of my pins into action!

  17. Thanks for hosting this. I'd love to join in but I just don't know what to do about my private blogs right now. My family one is a mess right now. It was fun peeking into everyone else's ideas.

Oh goody! I love comments! :)

Sometimes blogger sucks your comments into the nether-regions of cyberspace when you hit "publish". You might want to right-click and hit "copy" before you submit it. Then if your comment disappears, you won't lose it entirely.

Also, you can always email me at amongstlovelythings [at] gmail [dot] com. I love hearing from you! :)
