A Ramble by the River

Three things:

1. I fully expect to be hosting Pinning It Down here this week. However, if you can't find the link-up on Tuesday morning, that likely means I'm off tending to more important business (like... birthin' a baby, for instance). If you don't see the link-up here then pack up your pins and head over to Pam's. She'll take it from there.

2. Several of you have asked how you'll know when this little peanut has arrived. I have my doubts that such a day will ever come to pass, but... you all seem to think she actually WILL show up at some point. How very optimistic of you. :)  Elizabeth will hack into this here blog and let you all know when we've got our bundle of pink, but you'll have to wait for pictures until we get home. I pretty much refuse to bring my computer to the hospital- who wants to be distracted by a screen when there's a brand new hunka sweetness to love on, right?

3. Several of you have also asked if we will pretty please share the baby's name. We are cruel, cruel folks, we are. When I started this blog a few years ago, I promised the Man in Charge that I wouldn't blabber his kids' names all over the internet. We're stickin' to the policy, and will give the new little Miss a screen name just like the others. I had originally thought we'd call her Lily, but it just didn't seem to be the right fit. Primrose came up with a screen name we like much better. Stay tuned. :)

Have a lovely day, my friends.

  1. I understand completely about names and our childrens' internet privacy :-) My kids and I all have screen names too, and I think it's just fine. You have to do what you're most comfy with :-) So hoping for you that Baby comes soon! It's so hard, these last days of pregnancy! Hang in there! {{hugs}}

  2. Thinking of you, my dear. We celebrate today (Monday 20th, NZ time) the 23rd birthday of our older daughter who was 'due' on the 10th...
    :)
    "Keep Calm and Carry On".
    Bless you!

  4. Here are some random, late night thoughts... I was not endowed with patience, so get frequent opportunities to practice it! :) My deepest sympathies. Are you familiar with the Moscow food co-op? Great place. We were with them from one room in 1990 until 2010 when we returned to PO. In recent years, after several moves into larger spaces, they moved into what was Safeway on 5th. Don't have to join to shop, reasonable membership fee, 10% discount on bulk orders to members. Fun town to visit. Excellent used bookstores! (I am a voracious reader myself). Are you familiar with Diane Mott Davidson? Just picked up her latest culinary mystery. Fun read. It has been out for a while but being impatient for "the next book", I make it a point to only check sporadically for the next one.:) Con't.....

  5. Forgot to sign "Sheryl in PO". Con't...Fun to see the characters grow. I found your blog a couple of years ago-came over from Auntie Leila. I enjoy your writing and your sense of humor (fewer people seem to HAVE a sense of humor these days?). Mine is quirky and I try to keep it to myself until I know people a bit. So depressing to get a blank stare in response to some witty saying! :) On the other hand, I don't understand or find the "funny" in modern cutting edge humor. Yours is nice AND funny. How about another, "Hey, Girl" while we are waiting? This week, I have been reading your earlier posts and enjoying those a lot. Sorry to take up so much of your blog space. Keeping you in my prayers. I DID say, "Random thoughts!") Goodnight! :) Sheryl in PO

  7. Sarah, those photos are so lovely. Makes me pine for the dead of winter here in Texas. Hopefully it will be Pam hosting tomorrow! :-) I pinned something up for you for taking hospital pictures. If you want to see more of that particular photoshoot for ideas then go to dana-made-it.com. :-)

    Peace to you big mama!

Oh goody! I love comments! :)

Sometimes blogger sucks your comments into the nether-regions of cyberspace when you hit "publish". You might want to right-click and hit "copy" before you submit it. Then if your comment disappears, you won't lose it entirely.
