The first word that comes to mind when I describe 11-year-old Primrose is "driven." I was something of a planner and organizer when I was a child, but nothing like she is. When she comes up with an idea, it's best that I step out of the way and let her rip.
The girl knows how to dream big, but she's also willing to tackle the hard work necessary to make those dreams a reality.
Months in advance, she worked to earn money for snacks and craft supplies, brainstormed ideas, and drew up plans that would be fun and engaging. I did nothing except cart her and her friends to the store, or place online orders with her hard-earned cash.
The VBS was a great success, and our front yard was rocking with praises for Jesus all week long! Skits, songs, snacks, outdoor games, crafts, lots of fun and lots and lots of Jesus. They even put on a performance for the parents on the final day.
I hope she never loses that fire rumbling beneath her, even as she grows and learns to use her strong assertive personality to work gently with those she leads. ;)
She's something else, that girl of mine, with a heart of gold and a drive to conquer nations. I can't wait to see how she uses her gifts to glorify God all the days of her life.
